08/09/2005: "Israel, 18 USC 793, 18 USC 794 and Karl Rove"

The dominos are falling.

Two former employees of a pro-Israel lobbying organization were charged Thursday with conspiring to obtain and disclose classified U.S. defense information as far back as 1999 on a variety of topics, including al-Qaida, terrorist activities in Central Asia, the bombing of Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia and U.S. policy in Iran. The indictment named Steven Rosen, formerly the director of foreign policy issues for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, and Keith Weissman, the organization's former senior Iran analyst.

After 911, there were rumors on the web that Israel had knowledge of the attack but allowed it to happen so the millitary could further it's aggression towards muslims. But that's a different story...

More on Rosen & Weissman

The Bush administration should be very afraid of 793 and 794 because they mean prison. When Rove decided to push Plame into public light, it was not just retaliation against her husband's dissent. Plame worked for a CIA front company called Brewster Jennings & Associates, who's sole function was to gather information on WMD's. The Bush administration could not risk the chance of the CIA gaining information that would challenge the Iraq invasion and exposed their investigation.

Why Rove should get at least life in prison:

"18 USC 794 (b)
Whoever, in time of war, with intent that the same shall be communicated to the enemy, collects, records, publishes, or communicates, or attempts to elicit any information with respect to the movement, numbers, description, condition, or disposition of any of the Armed Forces, ships, aircraft, or war materials of the United States, or with respect to the plans or conduct, or supposed plans or conduct of any naval or military operations, or with respect to any works or measures undertaken for or connected with, or intended for the fortification or defense of any place, or any other information relating to the public defense, which might be useful to the enemy, shall be punished by death or by imprisonment for any term of years or for life."

Notice the first sentence, "in time of war". The Bush administration has begun to address this potential loophole with a new spin campaign. The "Global War Against Terror" is now being called the "Global Struggle Against Violent Extremism". Rove and company seem desperate to save their asses. They are also trying to remove Patrick Fitzgerald from the Treasongate investigation who is special counsel, "Acting" with the full authority of the US Attorney General. Patrick is also US Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. As he was building his case in Chicago, the Chicago subway was shut down due to a bomb threat.

These thugs will stop at nothing to stay in power.

Please contact your local media and demand this story get in depth coverage. For more information on this Treasongate from a retired attorney's interpretation of the law go read Citizenspook.
