Angry Old Man
The future was bright
til the rainbow ahead,
cut into the earth and
made rivers red.
He's alone,
angry, an
angry old man.
The love of his life
left him alone,
now demons and ghosts
haunt their old home.
He's alone,
angry, an
angry old man.

This joke floored me
"Men are like floor tiles.
If you lay them just right the first time, you can walk all over them for years."

Healing
I think everyone has had growing pains as a teen. It's pretty ironic we should be exposed to such an important lesson at that point in our life. In high school we were worried about showing any kind of vulnerability, meanwhile, our bodies were telling us that if we didn't experience pain - we wouldn't grow.
Like many people, I made a new years resolution to work out a few times a week. My goal was not to get in shape, but to remind myself about that old saying "no pain - no gain". At this point in my life, it's hard to imagine that hurt and pain will bring about something positive. It's easy to be the victim, it's hard to see how pain can be beneficial.
I'm hoping to accept my pain as proof of my love for others and for myself. In the long run, I will reflect on this attitude as strength. Hopefully this will inspire me to expose myself more frequently.
