Automobiles, homes and debt

We could all use some advice, right? Me, I'm currently carless and debating on what to put my time into researching: buying a car or buying a house? If I buy a house, I'm dedicated to learning some home repair over the next 5 years, but I will get a return on my investment. On the other hand, this weekend I looked at some diesel trucks at a bio-car-dealership new in town. A reliable diesel truck converted to run on vegetable oil could run me up to 9 grand.

The pros:
smile I could put in a huge grease-tank in the bed of the truck that would give me a 700 mile radius of road trip before refueling.
smile I support a renewable energy source and the domestic economy.
smile My truck makes people hungry.

The cons:
sad I have two cats. I don't feel comfortable leaving them with anyone for more than a month, so what's the point of traveling at all.
sad 9 grand is a lot of debt on a product that is going to lose all it's value before I can pay it off.

Perhaps I should consider looking at diesel motor homes and kill two birds with one debt. Maybe I should stop saving my money altogether and live for today. Sheez... Money stuff sucks.

ecalapnedlog moc.

confused

ecalapnedlog moc.... That's what this poor soul is going to see every time she confronts herself in a mirror. She auctioned her forehead off on ebay for the huge sum of $10,000 just to send her kid to private school. I don't get this at all (probably due to the fact that I went to public school, I'm sure). No matter what this kid learns in private school, it will pale in comparison to what he learns about the price of integrity. Every time this kid looks at his mother, he'll remember that money is the only solution to solving problems regardless off what he gets out of his education. Thanks mom!!

Also, thanks to CAKE who posted the link to this really bad tattoos site.

Club Lego Preview

Three weekends ago, I had the inspiration to make Club Lego. That weekend I spent ALL Friday night, Saturday morning and afternoon building and photographing the club. Since then, I've been reacquainting myself with Flash in order to make the animation. I have some more code to figure out (for the preloader) but it should be done soon. Here's a few screenshots to hold us over...

You might notice the firedancers on the platforms... Wicked!!

Wind dancing

Well, today I bought a stunt kite. A Speed Foil RM6 designed by Ray Merry to be exact. This past weekend I was invited to a beach-house-party. It was fun. My sunburn resulted in spending most of my daylight hours either flying or watching my friend's stunt kite. I could not believe how much fun it was to fly his kite! It felt like I could have been fire dancing, without the fire.

So now I'm hooked. I'm going back to the coast this weekend to break in my kite and dance with the wind. My new kite is almost 6ft wide, can hold up to 150lbs of pull and 30mph winds...

Perhaps I should tie my ankle to something!
