Imposers
I love Christmas for some reason. I enjoy making gifts for people and love even more to see my gifts appreciated. The fact that Christmas is considered a National Holiday, however, makes me angry. It's just assumed that everyone celebrates Christmas in this country, to the point that almost every business has to close for the day.
In America, Christianity and Democracy are considered the best. Christians put pressure on the rest of us for not following their god. Most Christian leaders denounce other religions as less creditable. This same philosophy is true with governments. Although every form of government can be ineffective when greed corrupts state employees, the United States treats other governments like Christians treat Pagans.
The Capitalist/Christian ego makes Bush scary as hell. He will never admit to a mistake because it is "god's will".
Bullshit on that.
If Jesus's message was understood, I know a real "Christian" would never spread fear and violence the way the Capitalist/Christians do.
If you can't be merry this year, I understand, but at least try to have a peaceful Christmas.

Strategic Communications Report
This was written last August by the Defense Science Board at the Pentagon and not released until after the elections.
"The war on terror and the invasion and occupation of Iraq have increased support for al-Qaeda, made ordinary Muslims hate the US and caused a global backlash against America because of the 'self-serving hypocrisy' of George W Bush's administration over the Middle East." In short we are stirring up the very movements we are trying to suppress. Perfect.
"American direct intervention in the Muslim world has paradoxically elevated the stature of, and support for, radical Islamists, while diminishing support for the United States to single digits in some Arab societies."

Actors or Politicians?
What's the difference? Both tell you what you expect to hear. Depending on who is writing their paycheck, actors and politicians can wear any personality-type like a costume. Why is it so disturbing to see entertainers use their popularity to jump-start their political career?
Entertainment and Democracy use different methods to solve problems. Entertainment's problems are just tricky enough to be solved in 2 hours while an honest democracy may debate an issue for many decades. People loved to watch Ronald Raygun slay the Indians and bank robbers. He had the image of protecting the good guys and killing the bad guys. Movie-goers would like to think the president should be able to solve our problems in the same manner. Those same people don't understand, however, that Ronald was always following a script.
You see, as long as Arnold keeps getting paid, he will follow a script. What Arnold may feel about the issues on a personal level is a matter of convenience. What is important, however, is that the republican leaders have a product with a known market. As long as his agenda divides the voters, he will be easy to sell. Furthermore, if the elections continue to be an advertising race, the "haves" will continue to win by using this strategy.
Our society is more conditioned to capitalism than democracy, therefore, voters are turned off by debates. Voters want someone they think is on their side, rich or poor. Voters don't want to see problems addressed with an open mind. Voters don't want long term, creative solutions. Voters want, period. As long as voters buy what they are told to want, capitalism will outlive democracy.
